Steve Ordahl Senior Vice President of Business and Fund Development

Steve has guided a number of senior housing communities’ development and repositioning efforts and led the largest housing development expansion in Ecumen history. He has more than 30 years experience as a leader in business, government and the military. Before joining Ecumen in 2003, he was chief executive officer of two major entertainment venues, the Texas Aquarium, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Underwater Adventures at the Mall of America. Steve also served more than 28 years in the United States Army and Army Reserve, holding a variety of command and senior staff positions.

Dana Wollschlager Director of Real Estate Development

Dana has more than 20 years of experience in senior housing development, redevelopment, financing, and affordable housing operations, management and regulatory compliance. Dana served as a regional director for housing operations at Ecumen beginning in 2000 and joined the Ecumen development team in 2004. She began her career in onsite management and has led the development of a variety of senior communities in urban and rural settings, including green design and construction, congregational senior housing and hospital campus senior housing.

Julie Murray Director of Real Estate Development

Julie has more than a decade of experience in the senior housing profession. Before joining Ecumen, she worked in marketing at several of the country's leading continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), taking them from opening to full occupancy. Before moving to the senior housing profession, she began her career in hospitality and management as a chief purser for Carnival Cruise Lines. Julie is a Cum Laude graduate of Texas Tech University, where she received her B.S. in hotel, restaurant and institutional management.

Tom Opatz Director of Real Estate Development

Tom served as a leader in Ecumen’s operations group before joining Ecumen’s senior housing development team in 2008. Tom served as regional director for housing operations at Ecumen. Tom has served in a variety of managerial roles in senior housing and long-term care, including managing assisted living and as a nursing home administrator. He is a graduate of Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he received his B.S. in health care administration.
